Capt Dave grew up in Saint Petersburg, FL. and spent most of his free time chasing fish and exploring the mangrove estuary's in the Tampa Bay area.  He has called Florida his home for over 40 years, he loves the outdoors and would live on the water if he could!

After graduation from the University of West Florida with a B.S. in Hospitality, Recreation and Resort Management, Capt Dave studied and interpreted mangrove ecology at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Prior to starting SWFL Cruises, he managed the visitor services concession in the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island for over 10 years and worked with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials and biologists as a steward for the delicate mangrove estuaries of SWFL.

Capt Dave holds a U.S.C.G. Master Captain license and spends free time volunteering for local conservation groups.  He loves the outdoors, but most of all enjoys creating a fun and memorable experience for your family and friends.
